FAQs

Answers to some of your most common questions:

Generally, it is recommended that your pet has two exams per year since pets age much faster than humans. Your pet can’t tell you if they aren’t feeling well or are in pain – early detection and prevention of illnesses and other potential health problems will help your pet live a healthy, active life. Your pet’s Southeast Georgia Veterinary Clinic practitioner will be able to determine the best health and wellness options.

Like humans, your pet’s dental health is key to overall health. And like your dental health provider, Southeast Georgia Veterinary Clinic will also suggest any procedures that are necessary to heal or prevent tooth pain, loss, infections, and to protect jaw joint health. We also perform dental extractions when necessary.

Your Southeast Georgia Veterinary Clinic practitioner can best prescribe treatments and medications after an examination of your pet to determine the parasitic infection. Some parasites can also be hidden, which is why we perform fecal testing bi-annually and heartworm testing annually.

It is safe to spay or neuter cats and dogs as young as eight weeks, but it is recommended before five months for cats and six months for dogs. Talk to your pet’s Southeast Georgia Veterinary Clinic health care provider to determine the best options for your particular pet.
